There is a special place in my heart for souvenir jackets; equal parts functionality, heritage, and flare all in one. The first of these jackets originated from WWII when airmen would use excess parachute material to create an ornate jacket to memorialize their service. The modern souvenir jackets feature the heritage and inspirations of their respective brands, serving as an earmark, even cornerstone to some of the latest collections this year. Prices range greatly as do the available colors, materials, and constructions, but one truth holds that the wearer should don each piece with the indelible pride that comes with the jacket.
I usually don't advise splurging on a fashion piece, limited life spans and all, but this genre has deep-seated roots in genuine culture. I will however suggest that the jacket you opt for is one that you can own, with colors that work for your style and a fabric that suits your environment so that you're comfortable in every sense of the word while wearing it. The only caveat to this advice is in the off chance that you find some thrift gold; I don't care what color or creed, grab that thing up before it disappears!
