It seems like everyday that someone, somewhere is making the next best wallet; I feel that I personally sift through 2 or 3 a day. Not to say that these new attempts at pocket organization aren't great, but these innovations are usually at the expense of the form or function of the wallet. Something that has been very popular in recent years are card organizers that keep every single piece of plastic with your name on it easily accessible, without the struggle of finding it or squeezing it out of a leave sleeve. Then there are wallets that feature some manner of coin pocket/storage that attempts to keep everything in one place. The former models lack the availability of coinage where as the latter usually becomes this amorphous, clunky weight that ruins the lines of your pants.
Thats why I thought Kin was such a marvel idea, it looks to provide an innovative solution to a problem we all face, receiving change. This startup (currently in their KickStarter phase) features a bi-fold wallet that almost magically sorts out bills and coins by just simply putting all your change in the same spot. Their video explains the arduous hours they spent prototyping and innovating, and the end result almost seems impossible. I'm certainly curious to see how the Kin wallet fares over time with the change being in it, but it seems to keep its shape and remain fairly thin, so it has my vote already. Be sure to check out their campaign page and vote with your dollars, something you won't be able to do this Tuesday (hint hint, it's election day).
